Corey:

What is up everybody and welcome back to another episode of the Dorkside nexus. We've got a special episode today. Tanner will not be on the mic, but he is still in the room. He's doing the producer stuff. But instead, we have his younger brother.

Bryce:

Bryce, Bryce, Bryce. That's his name. I should have said it, but I didn't because this is our first while second time having a guest on and we're just going to do some some q&a. get the feel for our special guest and then we're gonna dive right into all the all the meaty stuff you're here for such as moon night. And let's just jump in. Alright, so Bryce, you're,

Unknown:

you're a nerd. You're, you're officially a nerd. Now. You've been a nerd. What? Let's say I would qualify myself as a nerd. Now. I probably started out a little slow. But I love the Marvel stuff. I'm just dabbling into Star Wars now. But big, big nerd I would say starting to become one. All right. All right, we got Marvel, we got Star Wars. Here's my question. What's your favorite Star Wars movie or show? Star Wars movie or show, I would probably have to go with Revenge of the Sith just because I love Anakin Skywalker. That's really, I mean, Anakin is just the greatest character, in my opinion, just because I really dove into Clone Wars and whatnot, and they do a lot of character development with with Anakin you really get to become attached to the character. And when you see what he goes through in Revenge of the Sith just like just the pure pain and anger and rage. It's just such a sad moment. So I just, I love that movie. That movie is awesome. Thank you. Yeah, that's one of my top two favorites. I know Tanner is also a huge fan of Revenge of the Sith. So that makes sense. Anakin and Obi Wan that fight on Mustafar will always be one of my favorite images. That's actually why I'm so excited for the Kenobi show. I don't know if you've, if you know anything about that coming up. You're excited about it, or I am very excited. I mean, I just obviously we just watched the trailer for the first time I saw it. It looks exciting. I mean, I don't I don't really know what to expect, somewhat. I mean, it's just Obi Wan. You know, just on tattooing. This is gonna be this is gonna be cool. We'll see what happens. I'm excited. I'm excited because they're teasing. It's going to be his rematch with Vader and being a big Anakin fan. Anything Vader and anything. And again, I'm excited to see, you know, who knows if they're going to do flashbacks or something like that. It'll be interesting to see. I wonder if we're going to see like Hayden Christensen with his helmet off at all. That's my you know, it's cool. There's a lot that that can happen in the show. So I'm excited. Okay, let's you did say Marvel. Let's jump back there. Of the like 4000 Marvel films and shows that we have now what's what's the one that really like piques your interest at the moment? What's what's your favorite right now? So favorite, we're talking about just like film or show we're not talking about specific character right film or show? Yeah, gotcha. Cuz I have an answer for obviously my favorite hero in the MCU. Obviously, different answer for probably my favorite film. Let's see. Probably Ragnarok is just like my favorite. I mean, standalone film. It's hard to hard to not like that movie. It's It's It's It's got everything you know, Comedy Action, and Thor's and awesome character. So I mean, that that movie is awesome. It does everything right. And I love that it's, you know, it's a Thor movie, but they also get to tell a whole tale too. Yeah, you don't you don't get to see much on Hulk. Like he's just in the Avengers movies before that. Like he's there. But you don't get any story on Hulk at all. Now you get to see him just pure Hulk mode. You know, just being a beast for the grant, the Grandmaster or whatever. It's it's a cool story for Hulk. It's a fun movie. Ragnaroks definitely in my top five for sure. Now, so who's your favorite character in the MCU? I love Captain America. Hell yeah. I love Steve Rogers. I mean, don't get me wrong. I love Sam Wilson. He's awesome too. Obviously, we haven't seen much of Sam Wilson yet but Steve Rogers is just my heart and soul. I love him just because he gives everything to the cause. Like he is all hard. He's gonna lay it all on the line. He is the man I love Steve Rogers. Don't you got me there? That's the perfect one. A lot of people say Team Cat but Team Iron Man but cap is honestly I know Tanner's over there like I'm Team Iron Man. That's me to Captain America though, where he goes from being like this little kid and broke like Brooklyn, he's defenseless in a way. And then he becomes like the one to stand against Thanos like, the only one in between this utter decimation of the planet of this of all life. He's the last one to stand in between and be like, I can do this all day. But that's why I love him so much. Because you see before he gets that super soldier serum in him, you know, he's just a scrawny little kid, and he's getting its ass beat in an alleyway by some guy or whatever. Because I could do this all day, he doesn't care. He doesn't care even before. He has abilities. He's just all hardened, just ready to go. He wants to fight that war for his country. He wants to, you know, lay it all on the line already. And then you show it like, in that movie, it shows him jumping on a grenade. He's gonna lay it on the line, he's gonna save everybody if he is doing just Captain America. I love him. He's, he's the best in my opinion. I agree. i It's so great. The Marvel has all of these different characters that people can kind of see like parts of themselves in and watch them grow and evolve and go on this journey. And maintain like the important parts of themselves and change is in a way Tony Stark kind of becomes what cap is in their like their friendship and their kind of like their dueling ideologies. Turns Iron Man into that kind of guy who's like, Yeah, I'll make the sacrifice play. It's cool. I mean, I'm not gonna lie when I did see and game for the first time and I see cap go have his beautiful life with Peggy. I was a little upset at first just because I wanted calf to continue on. He's just like, my favorite character and but at the same time, I'm obviously happy. But I was a little upset when Steve Rogers just like calling it quits. Finally, I was like, oh, no, it's my guy who when he handed the shield to Sam, I was like, very surprised, because they kind of make you think it's going to be Bucky date for sure, for sure. And I kind of wanted it to be Bucky. But I understand that the people wouldn't really be like, Oh, that Russian assassin for the from the last like 70 years. That's killed like American officials. Supposedly he killed JFK, I think, in this universe in the MCU. I think it's cannon, I think suppose. Yeah, I think that is that theory out there for sure. I'm pretty sure that has been hinted at possibly, but who knows. I don't think people would really accept that guy as a Captain America. But then again, they weren't super accepting of Sam Wilson at first and he had to make his point. And I'm, as much as Steve Rogers will always be the Captain America. I am really excited to see what they do with Sam. I mean, Sam Wilson has a great heart. I mean, you see that speech, he gives it the end in front of everybody. I mean, he he knows what he's doing. He's the right guy for the job. I thought that Bucky you know, I wanted Bucky to be the guy at the beginning of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. But as you see the story progressed and see what Sam Wilson has to go through and everything you're like, this makes a lot of sense. I like Captain America Sam Wilson is Captain America. He's more like the the modern Captain America We've very much been stuck with a man from like 1920s and 30s being like the symbol and now it's Sam gets to actually move forward and carry that torch. Yes. And we get a new look on Captain America almost because now he's got wings. So I love that. I mean, it's it's awesome. It's awesome. So I'm excited. I'm excited to see where Captain America goes. Of those of the three Captain America films. Which one do you think? Which one do you think is the better film? Like which do you enjoy watching? My favorite Captain America film is the Winter Soldier. I love that movie. I think that movie is right up there with Ragnarok is like a standalone movie just with how well it's put together. I mean, everything from Bucky coming back from the past as the Winter Soldier just you know he's a complete assassin he's messing everything up. He's it's crazy. The whole hydro trying to take over the world basically. And Captain America single handedly takes down Hydra I mean, it's it's an awesome. It's put together so well. It gets to tell all these stories like Natasha, we get I think that's the most screen time we get of her up till this point. Because she's in Iron Man to a little bit. She's in Avengers a little bit. But then we actually get to dive into what are her motivations and what you know, What's she trying to do with this team? And then you get to meet Sam, which is super important. As you go back. You're like, Oh, this guy is gonna be a cool character. He pops up an Ant Man every now and again. He's He's there and then age Voltron at the party. But they do a great job in that movie of like, rolling the ball forward. And then of course that I mean the iconic scene of cat run and pass them in Washington DC on your left. Oh, yeah, that's a hilarious scene. So it's a memes that come out of that. It's great. I love that movie. Now out of the three of us in this room. Am I the only one who will do that to people Like randomly walking by, like if I get to walk by somebody on the left side, I will say on the left, and if they say something, I've made a friend for life. Yeah, I do that almost exclusively when I pass people. So it's it's a problem, but you know it. It's not a bad thing because I love that movie. So I think it's funny. It's on the same level as walking by the grocery store doors and doing the Jedi hand wave and opening them with the Force. I do that might just be me. I don't do that necessarily. Every once in a while, like, maybe I'm forced sensitive today. You know, maybe, maybe I'll check out Spider Man. See if like spider powers. I'll give it a try. All right. All right. Well, let's see what we got next. So we talked about some Marvel you like, what are some of your other fandoms that you're that you're into you like Lord of the Rings? Maybe some Batman? DC stuff? Gotcha. So I like Harry Potter stuff. Harry Potter stuffs really cool to me. Seeing those movies, probably five times a piece close to I really like yeah, some of the DC stuff. I think Batman is a little, you know, overplayed at times. Don't get me wrong. I did really love the the most recent one that came out. I thought Pattinson was great, but Batman is a little oversaturated in my opinion, but a lot of the other DC stuff is super cool. Like I don't know if you've ever seen the show Titans on HBO. It's not the best superhero show but I love the fighting scenes in that show. And just like the brutal pneus of it, and just how gory that show can be. I think it's just really cool. Finally a man of culture No, but it does it. It does DC has this amazing way of telling like really dark ready and and humans stories. Titans is a little interesting because I grew up watching the Teen Titans and absolutely loving that show. That's very soft show when you think about it in comparison to what they're doing now with the Titans Yeah, jump into the first episode and robins just like fuck that man. So angsty though real It's so crazy. It's crazy. I love who I don't even know what his name is. But that the actor that plays Dick Grayson, I think he's perfect for the part I think he's like an awesome that Grayson like he's he's perfect in my opinion. Brenton Thwaites? Yes. Okay, I legitimate Nightwing is my favorite character in all of comics. And we're actually planning an episode soon talking about our favorite characters. So So seeing them do Nightwing Dick Grayson, well, I'm sorry. What? Season? Alright, have you watched it? I've seen all of it that's on HBs Okay, cool. I'm seeing Nightwing actually brought to life like in live action for the first time makes my heart happy, deep down to my core. So there's some other characters I feel like it kind of like pushes off to the wayside now and again, for the sake of doing like mostly bat stories, especially Season Three the whole thing with Jason and I'm done with the Jason Todd character in the show. Like I'm so done with him they he was all right I think at the beginning and then all that has happened with him. It's he's so all over the place kind of in like he can't trust them. He's I don't like where his characters that I think they should try to. I don't know I don't know what they should do. But I don't think he could really be a significant part of the show moving forward. Yeah, the write him out. Supposedly, they were gonna give him his own sequel series like his own little red hood thing. I yeah, I'm not a huge fan either. Which is sad because Red Hood in the comics, or there's an animated movie Batman Under the Red Hood. Favorite Batman story of all time, I highly recommend you. Yeah, yeah. Tanner's looking at me weird. Like, Favorite. Well, well, what about The Killing Joke? The Killing Joke is okay. And Batman Beyond Return to the Joker would probably be like number two. But man, Under the Red Hood is an amazing story. And it shows Batman's relationships to his partners. In a sense, which sounds wrong. But I mean, in the sense that like how important the robins are to him as a character and keeping him on like a morally straight path. And what happens when like he's responsible for something horrible happening to a Robin, they kind of put that on dick in the Titans show. They kind of make it like oh, he's the responsible one. But comic wise there's there's it's a lot more of a Batman story. Now that I think about it, and if if you're oversaturated with Batman stories, another one may not be well, I'm just like, maybe not necessarily Batman stories, but like at least the Batman movies there's it's constantly a new obviously we're reliving the same backstory for Batman, Batman, his parents died bringing them to the movies every frickin every time so it's just like that gets old and like, this is why I kind of like Get the new Batman because we're seeing him only two years into his, his reign as Batman or whatever and figuring it out. It's cool because we're gonna see the start of Batman and not just like, you know, the beginning of Batman and then he's well into his career and he's got everything figured out. Like, Spider Man. Spider Man origins same way, dude. Honestly, if they kill Uncle Ben, one more fucking time I'm gonna do it myself. I swear. Yeah, he was a real character. The fans would have him murder, honestly. Like, we get it. There's certain characters where their origin story Yeah, you can kind of you can pick and choose details and kind of shift some stuff around. But for the most part, you get it. Uncle Ben dies. It's sad. I mean that that's why I think I mean no way home. They did a great I mean, because they had to do that big moment. The great power comes with great responsibility moment and obviously only has one really like parental figure besides Tony, you know who already died and, and they flipped it so well. I didn't see it coming. Oh, well. But the moment she says with great power. I'm like, oh, no, she's not making it past the lobby. That's not good. What a great. No, that movie was fantastic. All right. Yeah. So so we got Harry Potter. Batman, but not so much Batman, but a little bit of a DC fan Titans is great. I love that show so much. It's a good show. Let's, let's jump right into the topic of the week. About midnight, if you've been following the moon night story at all or moon night, it's exciting. It's exciting. I mean, I've watched it literally the day it drops every every week because I mean, it's it's probably probably one of my if not my favorite series so far. Just because it's a new it's a new look on you know, a Marvel hero basically, it's something we've never seen before. Yeah, Egyptian history, you know, everything going into it's, it's cool. It's cool. I love it. I love it. I don't know, like what to say about it. It's just, it's breathtaking. Basically, it's so cool. Visually, everything's awesome. So it's so different. It does take a lot of steps away from the typical Marvel mold. And then at the same time, it flips a lot of stuff on its head. Like we have a villain in the show. HARO, who's basically like a calm patient cold doot like he seems like he would want to help you out of a situation unless you are predetermined to commit a crime and then he'll just kill you right there on the spot. So Tana And I talked last week about the very emotional penultimate episode with the with Mark and Steven finding themselves. We'll start off with how did you feel about that episode? I mean, just like why not just tell me right in the beginning that you're gonna rip my heart. You know, before we you just throw it out at me in the middle of the episode. I that was It was awful. But it was awesome. You know what I mean? Like, it was so sad to watch but so cool, because you never seen anything like so dark in in Marvel history or anything like that so far, like, I mean, child abuse, you've never we've never been touched on really in the MCU. So it's, it's hard to watch, but like it also makes the character so much, you know, there's so much more to the character because of that. It's got a cooler, like, interesting backstory. And it's heartbreaking seeing these characters that are like you want to root for them, and then you realize that there's some absolutely horrible shit that they've been through. And you kind of get where they're coming from like Mark in his we kind of learned in this episode that it's not 100% Mark and his violence coming through. We'll talk about that a little bit more towards the end. But um it's so cool seeing them tackle like real serious issues like mental health and we're talking about Disney plus seems to be doing that a lot with their shows. But this one, I'm doing the arms again. You can hear it. Yeah, there's one this episode starts off with what is it start off with Leila or Haro? There's I've only seen it the ones so oh my god. I've literally just watched it last night. It has I think it opens up a Leila. It opens up we see Leila. She's going she's among Haro and as people who have just gotten the the Uber Shabti that's not the statue of the Ahmed, he got the almond statue and he goes and he gets his powers and then his his little weighing thing. his scepter is cane turns into the axe. As as as Ahmed is getting fried and I thought that was really cool. That was a really nice visual of, of showing him going from like the judger to. He's now the executioner of Ahmed that's I was a little confused about like the progression of Haro himself in this because like you don't see him become Ahmed's avatar until she's released and like she asks him to become his avatar, but almost like you see his cane getting more powerful like you see that, like, how does that work? If I guess it's they're getting closer and closer to freeing her maybe and he's getting more powerful because of it. I that was a little confusing to me. Like, how did he get stronger without her being released? And he wasn't an avatar? I don't know. I was a little confused by that as the as this episode progressed, because like, yeah, like you say, it's just like a normal K. And then all of a sudden, it turns into like an X and he's like, are powerful. And I was like, is she wielding some kind of magic and like imbuing him with it? Or it's an interesting question. I was just a little confused by that when I was watching it, but it was still really cool, obviously. I mean, and I like how, when they're talking to each other, he's kind of like, hey, you know, I I've committed some crimes in the way of getting you here. So I imagined you're gonna probably, you know, kill me and send me to the underworld. And she's like, No, we need some people. We're gonna break some rules. And my last my last, you know, Avatar was Alexander the Great and hit, he was perfect, but that didn't work out. So we're going to do somebody bad this time. Look what it did to me and it shows the arm it's already like kind of compromising her whole mission of like, pre judging and everything. This guy who's done terrible things. He's killed people. Right there. Murder. And she's like, okay, yeah, you can work for me. I think it I like the whole how they could break out of the stone very easily. But I also felt like there should have been a little bit more you just take their shop do you throw it on the ground? And then all of a sudden they're free? Yeah. Like what kind of prison is that? You get one like really clumsy made dusting stuff. And all of a sudden, like, knock it over. And oh, look, there's an Egyptian god here to kill me. Free to crocodile monster great. No, but obviously, it wasn't that there had to have been something a little a little different. That when it was it could have been that simple. Like that. And then and then speaking of releasing the gods from their from their little statues, we get Leila. She goes and she finds she finds Ken shoe and less than three snakes and with Harrow and his group into the what is that place called? It's the where all the gods are like, because that's where they have to imprison him at the end of the episode. What because it's more powerful that I forget what it's called the grade two. I feel like they're getting transported somewhere. Whenever they go in there. It's got to be like, Yeah, another extra dimensional or something. But it's I decrypt the, to the womb to the room. The I don't remember this. I know what she's talking about. Isn't the great, great, great temple Yeah. You also like I get like, you can so the avatars who you know the main avatars that are in that pyramid? I think they could get transported to at any point. And if they see a sense of disturbance, obviously you see heroin, his people, they're climbing up the side of the pyramid and then they just bust open the side of it and then they come straight through. Okay, yes. So, I don't know. It's interesting. It's really interesting and don't even get me started. I thought the coolest part of the episode was when Leila, you know, becomes tau rats Gavin's art you see her in the suit for the full time she is the Scarlet Scarab now. That was so cool. I see. I don't know anything about the Scarlet Scarab. So that's that Scarlet Scarab. That's now I don't know much about her. But apparently the Scarlet Scarab in the comics is supposed to be a villain tonight. So they're doing it a little differently. And I can see them doing that. That's a very Marvel thing to take like, okay, we're rooting for her. She's a badass, she's a badass, and then she's the villain. Maybe not a villain. There's a lot that has happened adversarial towards Khan Shu and moon night and that whole side of it. And then so harrow we see country was trying to get Leila to be the the avatar at the moment. And she's like no after everything that you've done to Mark No, no way. I'm not doing that. And he's like come on, just do it. Why not? Can't hurt do it? But we find out obviously at the end of the episode that he only was trying to do it to try to fight um, and at that moment, he didn't really actually want her to be his avatar. Exactly. You know, it's cool if you don't know that till the very end of the episode but a conscious No. knew a lot more than he led on On Oh, wow. Yeah, that was crazy. I was actually surprised that we didn't get back to the mark storyline until like, a couple quite a bit into the episode maybe like 15 Almost 20 1015 minutes in and he's in the field of reads and he's all Tara tower at it's like, you manifest this this is your piece you are finally at a place of peace. And Steven, sorry Mark can't stay because he knows that Steve says this isn't fair. Yeah, I'm not leaving my boy Stephen in the sand. I gotta go back for him and outlets like, you can't and it's too late. He goes anyways, and you see that speech she gives to to instone Steven there is so heartfelt and heartwarming. You were my only real superpower and then they just get frozen for a second and then obviously you see Osiris being a big softy and opens up the gates. I got wicked frozen vibes during that scene and you know what kind of left if it was awesome. I mean, like one confusing part about that scene when they get unfrozen is what is the sand doing? You know when it starts to come? Is that is the Duat like, Hey, you can't leave I'm coming after you like why is the sand just like a huge tidal wave coming after them when they're trying to go through the gates of Osiris? That's what I'm trying to figure out and I don't know if it's the Steven half is is consumed but Mark and once mark and Stephen become one then because Mark wasn't destined for to be stuck in the Duat because he had already gone to the read the field of reads. Maybe Steven and him like finally like, came together? That confused me too. I was like this feels like it's mostly just like for the story device of having them have this moment. And it's shared. Yeah, I don't know. They maybe they go back to it. But I don't think that's going to have like any huge significance like the I don't even know if explore the Duat anymore. Moving forward. It could be I mean, it's not like the show was closed to any continuation or anything. It felt very like Why have they not confirmed a second season already? This should be a thing. They should have confirmed the second season for the show even dropped. Okay, not gonna lie. Yeah, I mean, knowing that they're knowing that they had no plans for a second season announced does make it a little bit more like shit they can in this any way possible. I don't know. But heard this is it's on the topic of moon night. But I think the next time we're going to see him I forget what the project's called. It's either coming out late this year. And next next year. It's called Midnight something and I think Midnight Sun Midnight Sun so that's going to be the next time we see moon night I think because it'll have a lot to do with the nighttime and I think the other character that they plan on introducing and that has like history with night in the comics. So I mean, we'll see some more moon night not just this series itself, so we'll see him in other stuff to come in. He's got to be coming in. I mean, this this character is so awesome. You can't just kill this guy off and just be like, oh one and then No, people want more. They did too much work and they introduce too many cool characters. I mean, we basically get two superheroes out of one we get Mr. Knight Moon Knight. And now we've got the Scarlet Scarab which I didn't see a single bit of read on her costume but I'm told it's there. It's literally a little Scarab right on her chest and it's literally read that's it that's the only read it's a bit on the nose I guess but yeah, no, it was really a little Scarab right on her chest and that that little pieces right nothing else is that's what's funny. I'll take it I thought it was pretty cool. So we get towards we got the big fight climax we got moon night ensuite for a good amount of the time a lot and and when they do pass through the door it's mark and Stephen sharing the same body like they're just going in and out in and out sharing control. Yeah, and then and so they get out there's a moment where Mark and Steven are talking to conscious Stephen takes control Stephen starts being like, Hey, listen, my boy Mark you've been treating them like shit. Don't do that. Lets go you know stop on it. And they they he's like how are we going to get there? Mark says that unconscious like Don't you forget I am than that. Honestly, I that's a huge part of the show that I just forgot about until you just mentioned it. Moon Night can fly and I did not know that before this they fly now. They fly now. Yeah, it's I thought that was pretty interesting that that would have been a cool power to pull out like, any time earlier in the show, but obviously I think he can only fly when it's nighttime. He can obviously turn it night at any point on shoot can like if he needs to right now. 10 I think so. And that's I think what Tanner and I had mentioned earlier was that if he needs to fly conch, you can just turn it into nighttime and Anytime he needs to be the hero, so it's kind of like it's kind of like you know how Batman only really like shows up at night and you only see Batman and night stories. This is like you only see moon night at night because he's only moon night at night, whether it's nighttime or because he's the night. I literally that clicked in the last episode for me. Like I understood moon night, but like it never clicked in my brain until when he was like, Do you swear to protect the travelers of the night and he's like, You will be my night when he said that. I was like, Oh, it finally just clicked that he's the night of the moon. I get it now. Okay, I was I can't believe I didn't get bed that it just clicked for me like 30 seconds ago when he said that. I'm way behind. Okay. Yeah, he's a night of the moon in the night. For the moon for fuck. Okay. This is the dark night of the moon and the moon makes it night. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, you get to come back and you just earned your spot in the show. When you can teach me something about this shit. Which there's a lot that I need to know. But this was really funny is that seems like a really obvious one but completely over our heads for the longest time. There's still just like, right now. That's a cool idea is like a night for No, he is like a night in them. Okay. Yeah. So, so they're fighting. We got Tarawa. We got moon night and and Mr. Knight, they're switching back and forth and everything. And then we have Khonshu versus big ass Ahmed. Ahmed starts out small. And then you see her followers just going and just judging people and all of those souls just flying into the air. She keeps growing and growing and growing. The only confusing part about that is like I have to chime in here. This is for all the people who played Sly Cooper as a kid. Um, it looks just like Miss Ruby from the first Sly Cooper video game. Yes, just not as boo, do we, you know, but uh, I never thought of the she does kind of look like that. But I I just like the original scene when he's flying in. And then he lands on the pyramid and you see him running up the pyramid harrow running down and you just see him flying knee to the face basically to Harrow and the fight just kicks. It's it's awesome. But what I was saying before is you see Ahmed grow in with all those souls, you don't see Khonshu grow but all of a sudden he's the same size as Ahmed after she grew up with all those souls for some reason. Yeah, when they're fighting like he starts out the same size as her before she eats all those souls and then she grows bigger and then all of a sudden he's the same size as her and they don't wonder if he can like it, but can he like constantly changes size? I don't know during the night? Not sure. I mean, this is like essentially the first like big kaiju battle in in Marvel when you think about it. I mean there's Ant Man versus no naughty me yeah, he was just fighting other little people. I guess now in that big end game fight when he goes big does he fight like some of the big ones just wanted to kind of cut a little but that's not really like another big name. Fight I guess against Ant Man. It's not like Ant Man versus somebody are the closest I can think of would be like Hulk Buster versus Hulk and even that's not like big towering over the city monsters. And now now not even close, but it's really cool watching them fight. Yeah, HARO, he does he's he's able to imbue all of the followers of Ahmet with the ability to judge which I thought was pretty interesting. Just without any just like nothing judge everybody and they just start grabbing on to people in Cairo and it's all start flying. It's for like every like 10 or 15 souls then up getting taken like one person haros Like this is a good man right here. I love that little line when he's judging everybody and there's just one person who says this is the face of a good man. But he relaxed like cracks me up. I thought that was pretty cool. There's a lot of really good like, it's Marvel writing men it's just some way of having like a perfect joke land after a hard hitting emotional moment. And then what else goes on? I'm trying to think of how that whole how the fight thing ends. So basically, oh yeah, you just see conscious getting messed up Byom at the whole time. You get when she's going in for like the spear stab in his chest and then haros coming towards mark on the marks just be in done. He's got his cane or whatever. His tool that Ahmet gave him directly into marks chest, then all of a sudden, no, Leila is getting messed up to she's getting shot at she's pinned down by the truck. Mark sees that. And this guess what happens? You know, Blackout. We don't worry Let's see what happens. And I love that. I love that because we haven't seen those in a couple of episodes. You're like, oh, okay, he figured everything out with Steven, and they're good. And then he wakes up in the middle of everybody's dead harrows unconscious, like, everything around him is just obliterated, basically. And the question is, was that you, Stephen? Stephen comes out, and he's like, not a chance, my chance, like me to have this mark, what did you do? To act out? You know? And that was the big that was like the confirmation of a bunch of theories around the internet. Exactly. And then we're still not quite there. But the post credit scene, just the 100% confirmation of what everybody thought, you know, Oh, yeah. Now, they, they take, they take Harrow, they take him in the body, him and Amir sharing the same body, they're able to force them compile them into the end of the thing, I want to get to that last scene. So I just kind of want to blow through. And then they go to the trap the body conscious, like kill them kill on the marks, like, I'm done fucking killing people for you, regardless of how much they may deserve it, and how much that may help the world in the future. But so he made he makes that superhero choice. And it's very like the Marvel hero going, No, I won't kill I have a code. Very Batman moment to me. Of course, and then and then that's it. So supposedly, that's the end of the deal. Stephen and Mark are out of the whole country moon night thing. You see that? And like, I mean, as a fan, you know, Moon nights not going to be done. But you're like, Okay, Steven, and Mark, they're not tied to Khonshu anymore. How are they going to do this? It's interesting until you see the, the post credits and and they do a couple of like different endings where you're in different spaces. And it's like, there's the asylum where they're kind of reconciling and being like, fucking beat you HARO, you're no doctor. And then you get to them waking up in the room still tied to the bed. Because they're both at this point where there's a third person that even though we've reconciled, this third person is not, you know, good. We need to make sure to have Prakash roll this third person. Yeah. And then the credits roll. And I'm like, they haven't done an end credit scene all season. Yeah. And then we get to Harrow and a psychic psychiatric ward, which is very kind of cool. Seeing how you know Mark and Steven have been trapped in that in their mind. And then we come to you know how it was actually in one. And then he's, he's wheeled out into this limo. Big, big old limo, and we see who's there but Khonshu on shoe in a suit, which was really cool. That's some comic imagery right there. I guess that looked really really nice. And and they're talking is like you don't have you don't have an avatar or anything. And hurt me arrow says basically, yeah. And it was he wrong in consciousness. Like you know, Mark and Stephen thought that I wanted Leila HA, HA jokes laughable when I take the more violent third counterpart of them. And the partition in the in the limo closes, and you just see the eyes. You just see the eyes at first in the rear view and you're like, holy shit, okay, who's the kind of looks like Oscar Isaac, and then he turns around, and he's like, bowler hat and everything. Jake Lockley, all the fans, you know, a lot of theories on the internet going around saying there's a third, there's a third, boom, right there. And as I've said, on this podcast, probably the last shot they're going to show of the show that will lead into a season two or if they do a movie or Midnight's sons would be really cool. But um, I thought that was really really freaking interesting. I mean, it's, it's so you knew there was a third identity? We just like obviously, it wasn't confirmed yet. We were just waiting for it. So to finally have that confirmed as is awesome. But I'm just I'm curious to see how they do it. Because like, we only see blackouts of of Jake. We don't see what actually happens. And we we just see the aftermath and it's just pure decimation. So this guy has some brutal talents. And he's a scary guy. And that's all we got to know at the moment. Like, he is scary. And I still want to see like those moments that we have blacked out, and we know it's Jake. I want to see from those pilots. Season two, I want the first episode just to be J class and be plugged into all the scenes where we see just Jake Lockley. Well, we haven't seen of him, but we do know that he's done beautifully violent. And oh, man, it'll be it'll look like a DC show. When if they actually do that, like that's, it'll be brutal. It has to be because the aftermath that you see is just blood everywhere, dead bodies. You know, I don't know what it is with television these days with the I'm dead kids and Kid trauma, but holy Sheezus this show, it took us a little bit of everywhere. And, and I definitely enjoyed that. Sorry, I was just thinking back to just getting a phone call, I forgot to airplane mode for the record. When Steven and Mark are little kids and they're just about to get abused in that scene in the last episode for the first time, we see there's another shift and I went back and I watched the scene earlier this morning with the context of the finale. And there's so we have Mark changes into Steven and Steven picks up all this stuff on the floor. And then there's another like small moment you don't see his eyes but you see kind of like the motion of them rolling back. And I think that's Jake Lockley is the one who has been taking the hits all those years gotta be because Stephen has always seen his mother as like a happy figure in his life. Obviously his mother isn't real because he's a figment of Marx imagination, but I mean he has a happy life he's not abused Steven he was there to be happy so obviously Mark remembers the abuse but he definitely since he created Stephen to you know like deal with it and be happy about everything he obviously you know, made another personality to basically deal with everything that he went through when he was younger he doesn't even know about has no clue Concho no conscience I mean it probably happened in the middle of one of the first times that it was happening you know he probably created it as it was happening identity I feel like or right before something oh shit that's crazy. So so that just got me curious I wonder what so we've got the Mr. Knight from Mark we've got Sorry Mr. Knight for Steven moon night for Mark What is what is Jake Lockleaze Khonshu induced suit or protection look like I have a feeling it's gonna be similar to marks version of moonlight but with a little like something something more to it obviously because he kind of like a modern kind of tape. He probably has more abilities with it for whatever reason it or he's stronger I don't know because obviously you see just absolutely destroys every everything in his path. So I think there's there has to be something else that Jake has to the Moon Knight powers that Mark hasn't either accessed or just doesn't have in general. Because I mean, how can he get out of those situations if he doesn't have something over the top powerful unless he's just some sort of once he just pulls guns somewhere? Exactly like becomes the Punisher with Moon powers. Which would actually be kind of cool. I do like the Punisher. I haven't watched the show but I've been watching Daredevil lately and I liked his little his season two cameo like his appearances that in Daredevil I thought those are really cool Daredevil at this moment still sits is my favorite Marvel show at the moment Yeah, that's that's hard to say. But I definitely in season two when they introduce Punisher it's awesome. I love it it's awesome. I am I'm not quite done with Season Three yet I think on like episode 10 But I'm almost done with that I like it I'm surprised I didn't watch it earlier I just since it was on Netflix and it didn't feel like it was a Marvel project but it didn't feel like it entirely Marvel thing almost because it was on Netflix for a while so it was like a separate thing. So it just felt like not a part of the MCU and then once they put it on Disney plus it's like oh, okay, so you're telling me you're telling me it's canon but you're not actually telling me as canon you're telling me all this you're gonna put it on here included into everything but like I don't know what they're gonna do with Charlie Cox is there though I when I tell you when I was in the theater for no way home and he shows up I lost it. I was a huge trican Like diehard fan of that show when it came out and then they cancelled it and the heartbreak happened and then you just see the cane in the in the scene where he comes in and I'm like And this comes after Have you seen Hawkeye? Yes. Would you recommend it to your brother please because you need him to watch it it is a must watch I mean it's I wouldn't say it's like unbelievable is best Marvel show that they've ever come out with that but like it's necessary for the character development of Hawkeye after you see everything that happens in end game you got to see where Hawk is moving forward what happens and it is then you get the introduction to you know, I don't know if I don't really want to spoil it if he hasn't seen it, but there's some characters from a property that we've just mentioned that shows up and I'm like, no way the ties that they're making the Spider Man and and the other is King hen Yeah, it's it's awesome. So Kate Bishop is one of the characters in Marvel right? Hailee Steinfeld. Awesome. She's awesome as Kate Bishop, so I think you gotta watch it. I mean, I know he hasn't watched it but can we just talk about the ending of that real quick? What the heck's gonna happen with Fisk? Ah, just I'm hoping to become more like NC or like, I obviously cannot know there's not a shot there's not a chance in hell. I don't know. That's a very curious so I'm hoping I'm wondering if he gets like amnesia or something or I'm hoping he starts to like really want to become one of the like big bads in the Marvel Universe and we can finally get like a Spider Man vs kingpin fuckin story would be so cool. Oh, man. I mean, I feel like we're kind of heading in that direction because they introduce kingpin right at the same time nobody home comes out basically the same week the same week and you know you see at the end of no way home Peter Parker's on his own Finally he's becoming Spider Man so like I think we're we're moving in that direction. I'm not going to say that we're guaranteed to have a king pin versus spider man you know movie or fight scene or anything but it seems like we're kind of moving in that direction which is exciting. And in the little bit that we do see of kingpin it seems like he's more Marvel FIDE like he's actually like, super powered possibly that maybe he got a hold of the Power Broker from Falcon one or the super soldier soldier. Who knows man, that would be a super powerful villain. See him like he's got Yes, he's always been stupid strong, but like he he's got something extra to him in this series. Yeah, he took like, explosion directly to the face. Yeah. There's something going on. But with the king pin, there's so much stuff going on. I mean, multiverse of madness comes out today. You guys are going to see it today. I'm going to see it tomorrow. So by the next time we record next week, we will have the multiverse of madness episode. I'd be more than happy to have a special guest on that one. I'm excited. So excited for multiverse the reviews as of now we're saying it's very spooky. I liked it. I mean, I liked it. It was originally supposed to be a horror movie horror movie, right? Like that's how it was rated originally, when it came out rated R and like a horror movie or whatever. I'll take it. So it's cool. It's a cool ask, like cool things that we haven't seen in the MCU we haven't seen like a horror, you know, type of spooky type of movie. Really? If this makes Marvel Zombies canon. Not canon. I mean, it's been in the what if but if this makes like live action Marvel Zombies a thing? Ah, I'm gonna cry out of excitement. I'm not gonna like I am not gonna lie to you. I am very excited for this movie. But it's like a 100th of how excited I was for Spider Man. No way home because I watched so much stuff going into Spider Man, no way home. So I knew kind of what to expect and like, sort of like what everybody was thinking the theories like, you know, obviously the garden, Andrew Garfield. Tobey Maguire. I knew kinda we all knew, but nobody knew. Like, there was just so much more that was coming out that I paid attention to on the way home before that movie came out. And this I'm just going in blind. So I'm not as excited. But I think once the movie starts rolling, I'm just going to be locked in and, and super, super excited. So that's what I like about Marvel movies. Lately, especially phase four has just been sit down. Enjoy a fucking banger of a film. And the shows get to carry the weight of like the real Storytelling The we're gonna drive forward everything and then the movies get to be like, have a great time. Just enjoy this shit. Maybe Patrick Stewart will be in it. Maybe Tom Cruise will be in it. Maybe I don't know, even McGregor might be in it. Who knows? I'm just really looking forward to this film. And and I think we're any for anything else that you want to address or, I mean, throughout the multiverse of madness tonight, we got Thor love and thunder and a month basically. So I mean, a lot of Marvel content coming out in not a long time. So and then and then Kenobi at the end of this month, which I'm so excited for. So we got so much content just within the next month or two that we're we're gonna be recording a lot, right? I mean, come on. You guys are gonna be in here all the time talking about stuff. Oh, we're gonna be in here and I I'm speaking for myself. I know Tanner's already feels the same way. You're more than welcome to come anytime. I think this is a fantastic conversation. Yeah, I had fun. I had fun. This is this is great. It's really fun having you man. Absolutely. All right. So that's it for this episode of Dorkside Nexus. I've been Cory and this has been Bryce and make sure to stay hydrated everybody especially because it's starting to get warmer out. Love you all enjoy the multiverse. It's gonna be madness.
